During the tour, Walter was able to get an up close and personal view of two of our education birds, Chaukar and Shikoba. Walter also had an opportunity for an inside look at the work we do in the clinic with sick, injured and orphaned wild animals.
Come back any time Walter!

On a lovely evening in August, Salthaven hosted their annual Volunteer Appreciation BBQ to honour the approximately 100 volunteers from the community that currently assist Salthaven in some capacity.
Whether they work directly with the animals in the clinic, behind the scenes in education or fundraising, or are local merchants and veterinarians, they are all a huge part of Salthaven and we appreciate what they do.
There were games, prizes, good food and good company to enjoy along with entertainment by local muscian Justin Plet.
Thank you to the local businesses that donated prizes for the volunteers and a big thank you to the volunteers and our supporters - we couldn’t do it without you!

On the fourth weekend in July, Max Natterer rallied to Salthaven’s cause. Max had been out to Salthaven on several occasions and has become familiar with Salthaven’s needs for supplies. He decided to take matters into his own hands. With the help of his mom and dad, Carolyn and Marty, they organized a neighbourhood pool party and asked for donations from Salthaven’s wish list. Not only did they put together a generous amount of much needed supplies for Salthaven, but Max also managed to encourage friends and family to donate over $500 in cash.
A warm thank you to Max, his family and all their neighbourhood friends.
