Volunteer
Salthaven is a non-profit charitable organization. It relies on the efforts of volunteers and fundraisers. Without them, it would be impossible to provide the level of care required by our patients. Thank you for your interest in Salthaven’s volunteer program. Salthaven currently has a team of over 100 dedicated volunteers and provides training to new volunteers. It is not always necessary to have experience that directly relates to the various volunteer opportunities. The right attitude and a strong commitment can go a long way! Please take a moment to read through the Volunteer opportunities listed below.      Â

Here’s what some of our volunteers have to say:Â
Â
 Â
“Working at Salthaven for the past 3 years has given me the opportunity to work with a wide variety of people. We all bring our own strengths and weaknesses while we share our common love for wildlife. I want to thank Brian and the rest of the people who make Salthaven such a wonderful place to volunteer.” – Leesa       Â
     Â
     Â
“If the definition of volunteering is giving one’s time in exchange for nothing, then I am not a true Salthaven volunteer because I am rewarded in so many ways. Ultimately, loving these creatures is about letting them go when the time is right, but I will always carry them in my heart.” – Kim      Â

Â
“Every time I meet a new patient of the clinic, they become a piece of me forever, while I do my very best not to become a piece of them. Every shift flies by, no task seems unimportant, no encounter lacking significance. The people are amazing!” – Pat Â
