Please Consider a Donation to Salthaven Wildlife

Salthaven Wildlife Rehabilitation and Education Centre Inc. is a registered Canadian charity and non-profit organization. We rely on support from individuals, businesses, foundations and fund raisers to carry out our work. We strive to promote the well-being of wildlife and their habitats through rehabilitation of sick, injured and orphaned wildlife and through our public education programs.

Please consider taking advantage of a tax write off by donating to Salthaven. All donations of twenty five dollars or more are eligible for a charitable tax receipt upon request.

The current method of making a donation to Salthaven is by cash, cheque or Paypal. We are not set up for credit cards because we felt the annual fees to Salthaven associated with credit cards could be better used on our patients.

Charitable Bequest

A Charitable Bequest is perhaps the simplest form of planned gift to arrange. It is a gift made through persons’ last will and testament. A Charitable Bequest could consist of gifts of cash, real estate or property.

A Charitable Bequest in your will is a wonderful and simple way to make a charitable gift that will help ensure Salthaven Wildlife Rehabilitation and Education Centre’s important work of saving and protecting wildlife is carried on.

How it works

If you wish to change your current will to include a gift to Salthaven Wildlife Rehabilitation and Education Centre, you can request your lawyer to prepare a Letter of Direction or codicil. A Letter of Direction or codicil is a signed and witnessed document that adds a new gift, or changes or eliminates a provision in your will. It appendages your current will and prevents the need to redraft the entire document. A Codicil or Letter of Direction can be given to your lawyer to request that a gift to Salthaven Wildlife Rehabilitation and Education Centre be added to your current will.
